Eric has extensive and long-standing experience in contract law, particularly in the areas of construction law, public procurement in the construction sector, consumer construction contracts and company law. He also has extensive experience in the areas of property development, planning and building law, property law, as well as watercourse law and expropriation relating to drinking water supply and sewerage.
Eric’s primary focus in all matters is to safeguard the client’s interests through sound professional advice and effective solutions. Where necessary to safeguard the client’s interests, he also has considerable experience in litigation, arbitration and enforcement proceedings. His clients are mainly private and public sector developers, particularly property developers and municipally owned property management companies, as well as contractors and tradespeople.
In the fields of construction law and planning and building law, he has advised developers and contractors on a number of development projects in the region, including the Sture oil terminal, the Bergen Airport terminal, road construction projects on the European and county road networks, the Bergen Light Rail, hydropower projects, the conversion of Damsgårdsundet and Verftet from commercial/industrial to residential use, as well as a number of residential development projects.
In the field of public procurement, he has experience of litigating several cases on behalf of economic operators, including a public procurement case before the Supreme Court. He has also advised a private hospital subject to public procurement regulations, as well as municipally owned VAR companies, on various issues relating to public procurement regulations.
